If your garage floor has started sinking, cracking, pulling away from the walls, or creating uneven areas, the problem usually does not correct itself. In many cases, it slowly becomes worse over time and can eventually create larger problems throughout the structure.
At HowellSlabJacking, we have been helping property owners Lift Settled Concrete since 1989. We have Specialized in SlabJacking for over 35 years, helping homeowners across Indianapolis and Central Indiana restore settled garage floors without the cost and mess of tearing out and replacing concrete.
Many newer companies may call it “concrete leveling,” but when dealing with garage floors, the goal is often restoring the slab back toward its original position while creating a smooth, properly supported surface.
WE LIFT SETTLED CONCRETE.
THE OLDEST, MOST EXPERIENCED SLABJACKER IN OUR AREA.
FAMILY TRADE SINCE 1989
Garage floors can settle for several different reasons. Most of the time, the concrete itself is not the issue. The problem usually starts underneath the slab.
Common causes include:
When support underneath the concrete changes, the slab can begin sinking or separating.
If ignored, the problem often becomes worse over time.
You may notice:
Many property owners wait until the issue becomes severe, but smaller problems are usually easier and less expensive to address.
If your garage floor is settling, there is a good chance other concrete around your property may also be experiencing similar issues. We also help property owners restore driveways, walkways & sidewalks, steps, patios, porches, and concrete slabs. Whether you are dealing with trip hazards, separation, or settled concrete, our Traditional SlabJacking process helps restore support beneath the slab without replacement.

pbkentTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had Howell Concrete lifters lift a few sections of our driveway and sidewalk that had settled over time. The driveway had settled so much that it was approximately 4" lower than the garage floor and a major tripping hazard. I had another local company do an estimate prior to getting one from Howell and the price was nearly three times higher than Howell. They scheduled the job quickly and did an excellent job! They were friendly, efficient, and cleaned up the site very well. I recently contacted them again after approximately three - four years because the driveway had settled slightly again where it met the garage floor and they came out and re-lifted the same area plus another part of the driveway never lifted before and all for no charge! I understand that there is normally a charge after a certain amount of time but they waved the fee. You don't find this kind of customer service these days! Thank you David & Crew! Scott ChristnerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The folks at Howell Concrete Lifters exceeded my hopes and expectations. I was faced with the serious possibility of having to jack hammer concrete stairs and driveway. Settling had made my front stoop over three inches different at the top step from the height of our other stairs and going into our garage was a very bumpy rider. It looked terrible. After looking at reviews I gave them a call, received a visit, an honest discussion of what to expect and an estimate. Within 10 days of accepting they were on site, on time, and very efficient. My front stoop look and does its job so much better and my driveway is flat. Great pricing with huge savings over concrete replacement. I recommend them really enjoyed working with them. They saved me thousands of dollars. Jane TurleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great job leveling multiple slabs of our driveway. Michael GriffinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very fair price most companies charge double for this kind of work! Highly recommend if your looking for raising your drive or any concrete that has sunk over the years. J KochTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent work! Fast, efficient and professional. I recommend highly!! April FitchTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Howell’s did an amazing job lifting my sidewalk and driveway. I appreciate how personable Dave was by walking me through the process and personally overseeing the job to completion. They went above and beyond. I will definitely recommend them to all my friends! John Hardy Chandler PillsburyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our front porch had settled about 2 inches Isaiah quoted us an amazing price and quick service schedule. He was here I 4 days from the quote and in and out in less then an hour. Porch looks like new again.
Traditional SlabJacking has been a tried and proven method for lifting settled concrete for decades.
At HowellSlabJacking, experience matters. The material itself is only one part of the process. Knowing where to place the holes and how much material should be pumped beneath the slab comes from decades of real-world experience.
We inspect the garage floor and identify areas where support has been lost. Small access holes are drilled in strategic locations.
Material is pumped beneath the garage floor under pressure to fill voids and carefully lift the slab.
The slab is brought back toward its original position while helping create a properly supported surface.
Most residential jobs can often be completed in less than a day.
Traditional SlabJacking helps property owners restore settled concrete without the cost, mess, and disruption of replacement.
Benefits include:
We have helped property owners Lift Settled Concrete for over 35 years using tried and proven SlabJacking methods.
Choosing the right SlabJacker is about more than simply pumping material under concrete. Experience matters. Knowing where to place the holes, how the material should spread, and how to restore the slab while maintaining proper drainage comes from years in the field.
Property owners choose HowellSlabJacking because:
Many companies have come and gone over the years. Some are here for a few years and disappear. We are proud to still be serving homeowners and businesses after more than three decades of Specialized SlabJacking experience.
We are still here. Still Lifting Settled Concrete.
Garage floors usually sink because the material beneath the slab settles or erodes over time. Poor compaction during construction, water movement, and natural soil changes are common causes. Similar issues can also affect nearby driveways and concrete slabs.
Yes, many cracked garage floors can still be lifted. Concrete naturally cracks because it is rigid and does not flex with ground movement. The goal of SlabJacking is usually restoring the slab back toward its original position while minimizing separation. Cracks themselves generally remain but often fit back together much better.
Not always. In many situations, replacing concrete means spending significantly more money while still depending on the same soil underneath the new slab. Traditional SlabJacking often allows property owners to restore support beneath existing concrete without demolition.
Nothing is permanent. Water erosion and ongoing settlement can affect any concrete surface. However, when proper support exists beneath the slab and erosion is controlled, lifted slabs often remain stable for many years. We have lifted tens of thousands of slabs over the last 35+ years.
Yes. Uneven concrete can create trip hazards and may also affect storage areas, work spaces, and vehicle movement. Smaller issues are often easier and less expensive to address before they become larger repairs.
Sometimes they do. If one area of the property is experiencing settlement, nearby concrete can experience similar issues. Property owners often notice similar problems with steps, walkways & sidewalks, and pool decks.
